USA Transferring Illegal Immigrants from India and Central Asia to Costa Rica

USA has announced that it is transferring illegal immigrants from Central Asia and India to Costa Rica. The country's presidential office stated, "A flight carrying 200 immigrants will arrive in our country on Wednesday. They are from Central Asia and India." All of them are being transferred by commercial flight to a temporary camp for migrants set up near Panama. The entire process will be funded by the United States, and the International Organization for Migration will oversee it.

Recently, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Latin America, during which such agreements were made with Guatemala and Panama as well. Panama has already taken in 119 immigrants from China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan as part of the first batch. Guatemala, however, has not yet transferred any immigrants from the United States.

Amid President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants, 112 Indian nationals were transferred to Amritsar on a military plane from the United States on Sunday night. Two flights have already arrived from the U.S., and this is the third one. Among those arriving, 44 are from Haryana, 33 from Gujarat, and 31 from Punjab, with the remaining coming from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. After authorities review their details, arrangements will be made to send them back to their native places.
