Zarna Garg Highlights Indian American Support for Trump’s Firm Immigration Policies

New York City, NY, USA: Stand-up comedian and author Zarna Garg recently said that a significant number of Indian Americans support Donald Trump’s views on immigration, mainly because of his tough position on illegal entry into the United States. She shared her perspective during an appearance on ‘The Daily Beast Podcast.’

Garg, who is widely known for her comedy centered on immigrant families and Indian culture, has built a strong following through her Prime Video special “One in a Billion” and her bestselling memoir “This American Woman.”

During the podcast, she explained that most Indian Americans moved to the U.S. through lawful immigration channels, often after years of paperwork, screening, and long waiting periods. According to her, many in the community have family and friends who have been stuck in legal immigration queues for more than a decade and a half. Because of this, she said, they feel frustrated when individuals who bypass legal procedures appear to receive easier or faster treatment.

However, while she agreed with the underlying idea of enforcing immigration rules, Garg also noted that she does not fully support how the policy is being carried out.

In a lighthearted comment to host Joanna Coles, Garg remarked that many Indian Americans don’t view Trump with the same intensity as others do in the U.S., joking that corruption seems like a common trait among politicians in India, making it feel almost like a standard part of the job.
