Singapore: Popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg lost his life in a tragic scuba diving incident in Singapore. As per initial reports, Singapore authorities pulled him out of the water and quickly shifted him to a nearby hospital. Even after being placed under critical medical care, doctors were unable to revive him.

Zubeen had travelled to Singapore to take part in the North East Festival, where he was scheduled to perform today. His unexpected passing has left fans, the Assamese community, and the entire music fraternity in shock. The Indian music industry, particularly in Assam and the North East, is mourning the departure of one of its most cherished voices.

Former Rajya Sabha member Ripu Bora expressed his condolences on X, writing, “Extremely pained at the sudden loss of our cultural icon, Shri Zubeen Garg. His songs, his artistry, and his unshakable spirit have touched countless lives beyond Assam. My deepest sympathies to his family, followers, and loved ones.”
