Dallas Celebrates Indias 76th Republic Day at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial

Dallas, Texas: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial in Dallas, the largest of its kind in the U.S., hosted a vibrant celebration marking India's 76th Republic Day. Dr. Prasad Thotakura, founder and president of the Memorial, raised the Indian flag and highlighted the significance of the Indian Constitution. He emphasized its role as the cornerstone of India's governance and recognized the contributions of key figures like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and others in drafting it.

A special tribute was paid to Prem Bihari Narayan Raizada, the handwriting expert who spent six months hand-writing the Constitution. The event honored the Constitution's unique status as the longest-written constitution in the world, with the original document preserved in the Library of Parliament.

The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from NRIs, including Dr. Thotakura, co-chairman Tyab Kundawala, Rajiv Kamath, and other community leaders. The event was marked by the involvement of children, adults, and various associations, showcasing unity and pride in India's rich democratic legacy.
