The rise of Artificial Intelligence is reshaping industries worldwide, and it now poses a direct threat to jobs across various sectors. Recently, Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the impact of AI on employment in the tech industry, raising concerns among Meta’s developers and engineers.

During a conversation on the Joe Rogan podcast, Zuckerberg revealed that Meta’s AI technology has reached the level of mid-level software engineers. He further predicted that by 2025, these roles could be fully replaced by AI.

Given that a significant portion of Meta’s tech workforce is made up of Indian professionals, their job security is now at risk. This shift isn't just happening at Meta—other tech giants like Google and IBM are also embracing AI. Sundar Pichai mentioned that around 25% of new code at Google is now being generated by AI.

India has long been a leader in IT talent, and if it wants to maintain its position, its developers must quickly adapt. The focus will need to shift from traditional coding to tackling the more complex challenges posed by AI.

Those developers who can adjust will find themselves in a stronger position, taking on roles that involve managing and refining AI outputs rather than competing against them. As the tech industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, staying ahead of these changes will be crucial for survival.
