Who Is Rybar? Discover Why the US Is Offering $10 Million for Its Location!

The U.S. government is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information that leads to the identification or location of the Russian military media outlet Rybar and its employees. This announcement was made through a statement on the Rewards for Justice program.

Rybar, which has more than 1.3 million subscribers on its Telegram channel, primarily focuses on the Kremlin's military actions in Ukraine. The U.S. government describes the outlet as an entity that seeks to enhance Russia's military effectiveness and promote pro-Russian and anti-Western narratives.

Currently, Rybar is funded by Rostec, a Russian state defense corporation that has faced U.S. sanctions since 2022. Additionally, Rybar has created the “TEXASvsUSA” channel on X (formerly Twitter), which aims to foster social division, increase partisan and racial discord, and incite hate and violence in the U.S. in the lead-up to the upcoming presidential election.

In September, the U.S. government reported that Moscow has invested millions to sway the upcoming elections and strengthen the Kremlin's influence by establishing numerous web domains for the covert dissemination of Russian government propaganda.

As part of this crackdown, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed new sanctions on the Russian state-funded broadcaster RT and its leadership, including editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan.

In response to the reward announcement, Rybar's director, Mikhail Zvinchuk, claimed that his operation does not aim to influence U.S. elections and provided his registration address in Moscow. Rybar anticipates that the U.S. government will fulfill its promised payment for this information, suggesting it could be made through a direct funds transfer, a donation button on their website, or in cryptocurrency.
