India Raises Safety Concerns After 3 Students Killed in Canada

Ottawa, Canada: Three Indian students were tragically murdered in Canada last week, prompting the Indian High Commission in Ottawa to raise safety concerns with Canadian authorities. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and welfare of over 400,000 Indian students in Canada.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal extended condolences to the victims' families and confirmed that Indian missions in Toronto and Vancouver are assisting with investigations. A safety advisory has been issued for Indian nationals and students in Canada, urging vigilance due to rising hate crimes and violence.

Jaiswal also addressed reports of alleged visa denial by the Indian High Commission in Canada, dismissing them as misinformation by Canadian media intended to malign India.
