Following his reappointment, Rep. Bera expressed his appreciation to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for entrusting him with this vital role. In a statement, Bera shared his enthusiasm, saying, "Grateful to Rep. Jeffries for reappointing me to serve on House Intelligence Democrats for the 119th Congress! I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the aisle to ensure our intelligence agencies remain effective and uphold integrity in safeguarding our nation."

Bera highlighted the critical importance of the committee's work amid global uncertainties and domestic challenges. He underscored his commitment to maintaining the independence and impartiality of U.S. intelligence agencies. "With over a decade of experience addressing key national security concerns, I take the responsibility of protecting American families seriously, while ensuring the Intelligence Community performs its duties efficiently and ethically," he added.

In addition to his position on the intelligence committee, Bera has also been reappointed as the Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific.
