A 22-year-old Indian-origin man, Arshdeep Singh, has been arrested in Brampton, Canada, for sexually assaulting three women in Brampton and Vaughan. The assaults occurred on November 8 and 16, 2024, when Singh pretended to be a rideshare driver to lure his victims.
Singh is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, and robbery. He targeted women at bus stops, offering rides in his black sedan before driving them to secluded areas and assaulting them.
The police connected the incidents after victims reported similar details, including the suspect speaking Punjabi. Singh was arrested after a detailed investigation and appeared in court for a bail hearing. Authorities are urging the public to remain cautious and verify rideshare drivers' identities.
Peel Police continue to investigate and encourage any further victims or witnesses to come forward.
