Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamurthy, a Telugu NRI, has been included in the list of the 50 most influential people in the city by the renowned Chicago magazine, 'Chicago Magazine'. Krishnamurthy secured the 24th position in the city of Chicago, making him the highest-ranked South Asian on the list.

Krishnamurthy, aged 50, was elected to Congress in 2016 and is currently serving his fourth term representing Illinois' 8th District, which encompasses Chicago's west and northwest suburbs as well as the city's 41st Ward. There are speculations that he may run for the Senate in 2026.

According to 'Chicago Magazine', Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamurthy has been recognized as one of the 50 most influential individuals in the city, ranking 24th and emerging as the highest-ranked South Asian on the list. There are indications that he might consider running for the Senate in 2026.

The magazine highlighted that Krishnamurthy's campaign coffers amounted to $14.4 million, surpassing the campaign funds of any other congressional representative in Illinois by more than three times. This figure marks the third-highest total in the entire Congress, as reported by the magazine.
