Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport Ranked Second Best in the U.S.

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport has been named one of the top airports in the United States, as announced by Travel + Leisure on Tuesday.

The rankings were based on reader surveys submitted to the New York-based travel magazine, with T.F. Green scoring 82.31 points. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was just ahead with a score of 82.32 points.

Last year, Warwick airport was ranked third in the nation. The only other New England airport to make the list was Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in New Hampshire, which placed seventh.

Voters commended T.F. Green for its lack of crowds and lines, cleanliness, and ample parking. The magazine highlighted the numerous positive comments about the bathrooms.

“The bathrooms are magnificent! This seems like a small thing, but when you travel a lot, large stalls with privacy doors and sinks with built-in faucet/dryer combinations are such a gift. And the live plants and fresh flowers by each sink really made me feel like someone cares about my well-being,” one voter wrote. “Likely the best experience of my 30 years as a traveling consultant.”

This accolade marks the 13th time T.F. Green has been highly ranked by a major publication since 2017, according to a statement from the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. Last year, Condé Nast Traveller ranked the airport as the 10th best in the world.

RIAC President Iftikhar Ahmad expressed his gratitude for T.F. Green receiving another recognition.

“The Rhode Island Airport Corporation takes our commitment to excellence in customer service with the seriousness our patrons have come to expect, and we appreciate the support of all voters as we expand on our efforts to provide meaningful connections to the nation and the world,” Ahmad said in a statement.
