Singapore Enhances EV Charging Infrastructure: 1,000 HDB Carparks Now Equipped with Chargers

SINGAPORE: As of August 5, electric vehicle (EV) users now have access to charging points at approximately 1,000, or half of the Housing Development Board (HDB) carparks across Singapore, according to the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

This marks an increase from the 700 HDB carparks that had charging points in January when there were over 2,400 charging points available.

The LTA noted that its subsidiary, EV-Electric (EVe) Charging, is progressing well toward its goal of installing charging points at all HDB carparks by the end of 2025. The Government plans to have at least 12,000 EV chargers installed in about 2,000 HDB carparks by then.

Recent additions include EV chargers at Blocks 259/264 Jurong East Street 24, Blocks 135/138 Bishan Street 12, and Blocks 134/136 Bedok North Avenue 3, as listed on the EVe website.

Currently, there are about 13,800 registered EV charging points in Singapore, with 6,700 being publicly accessible and 7,100 private

In the first half of 2024, nearly one-third of new car registrations in Singapore were for EVs.
