Tide Duo and UAB Star Enter Senior Bowl Hall of Fame

Senior Bowl Hall of Fame Class of 2024 enshrined on Sunday night in the Grand Ballroom at the Grand Hotel Golf Club and Spa in Point Clear

The Senior Bowl Hall of Fame welcomed its Class of 2024, honouring five outstanding players and celebrating Alabama's football heritage and beyond. Marty Lyons and DeMeco Ryans from Alabama, along with Roddy White from UAB, Carson Palmer from Southern Cal, and Eric Weddle from Utah, were among the distinguished inductees. Lyons, already a College Football Hall of Famer, expressed gratitude for the honour, reflecting on his impactful NFL career with the New York Jets and crediting the Senior Bowl for its role in his journey to professional success.

DeMeco Ryans, renowned for his standout years as an Alabama linebacker and subsequent achievements with the Houston Texans, echoed Lyons' sentiments, praising the Senior Bowl for providing a vital platform for college players to showcase their talents to NFL scouts. Roddy White, the first UAB player to be inducted, recalled how the Senior Bowl exposure played a crucial role in his successful NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons, marking a significant milestone in his football career.

Since its establishment in 1988, the Senior Bowl has been a cornerstone of the football calendar, not only honouring top players but also recognizing the 2023 NFL Rookies of the Year and supporting community initiatives like the Senior Bowl Charities Celebrity Golf Classic. These events not only celebrate football excellence but also contribute to local communities by promoting youth football programs in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
