Tongue-slipped in a meeting once again, President Biden

In Washington, Biden finds himself entangled in verbal missteps, inadvertently conveying messages contrary to his intentions, providing fodder for political adversaries during the ongoing primary ballots for the upcoming November U.S. presidential election. Despite leading in the presidential nomination race for the Democrats, some members within his own party, as well as opponents, criticize Biden, asserting that he is too old and unfit for a second term in office.

Against this backdrop, Biden's recurrent displays of forgetfulness and signs of aging have become effective ammunition for those opposing him. During a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House on Friday, Biden declared that the United States would drop food parcels over Gaza in Palestine by airplanes and made a statement about supplying food to Ukraine.

However, the White House had to issue a clarification shortly after, noting that the intended destination was Gaza, not Ukraine. This incident follows a similar gaffe in the first week of the previous month when Biden mistakenly referred to Egyptian Prime Minister Abdel Fattah as the President of Mexico, drawing criticism. It is important to note that Biden's physicians have affirmed his fitness to carry out presidential duties despite these verbal slip-ups.
