A tragic fire broke out early Tuesday in an apartment building in Largo, a suburb of Washington, D.C., leading to the deaths of two adults and leaving a child in critical condition.  

Officials reported a devastating apartment fire in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C., resulting in the deaths of two adults and the critical injury of a child.

The Prince George’s County Fire Department shared on social media platform X that a man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman was discovered deceased during a search of the three-story multi-family residence.

The critically injured child was promptly taken to a hospital, though officials have not disclosed the child's age.

When firefighters arrived, flames were already visible through the roof of the building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
