Although he is not pursuing a political career, Musk has shown support for Republican candidate Donald Trump, particularly regarding government efficiency. He expressed his hope for Trump’s re-election, mentioning a commitment to work on a "department of government efficiency" to tackle what he views as excessive federal spending. Musk believes this work is crucial for the country's future, saying, “If America falls, nothing else matters.”

Musk's remarks follow Trump's announcement of a proposed government efficiency commission, which would aim to audit federal spending and eliminate waste.
