About Chesapeake Montessori School Chesapeake Montessori School was founded in 1977 by Anne Locke. For its first four years, the school operated in rented classroom space at St. Margaret's Church, near its current location. In September 1981, CMS moved to its present site, with classrooms and learning environments specifically designed for Montessori primary and elementary programs. In September 2000, the school expanded to include a Young Child Community classroom, two Primary classrooms, and two Elementary classrooms. In 2009, after acquiring additional land, a new Elementary building was completed, featuring two more classrooms, a library, a multipurpose room, and a new location for the administrative offices....
