Washington: The Senate will soon approve a key bill that will provide relief to H-4 Visa holders in America. This will benefit about one lakh people. In the long debate between Republicans and Democrats in the US Senate on Sunday, both factions agreed to approve the 'National Security Agreement'. H-4 visas are issued to allow spouses and children of H-1B visa holders under the age of 21 to work.
H-4 visa holders must apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD), I-765, to work in the United States. Once the application process is completed and the authorization is received, they will get a chance to work. But it will take a year to complete. Due to this, H-4 visa holders have to lose their job opportunities. In this context, Whitehouse said in a statement that the bill designed to provide 'automatic work authorization' to H-4 visa holders will be approved in March.
The new bill will strengthen our country and secure our borders. It will allow for legal immigration," said Biden. Under this policy, employment-based green cards are issued to 18,000 people every year. About 1,58,000 people will be benefited in five years. Also, 25,000 K-1, K-2, and K-3 nonimmigrant visa holders (issued for temporary work such as tourism, medicine, and business), and 100,000 H-4 visa holders will have the opportunity to work in the area where their spouse works. The White House revealed.
