Measles (Measles) or measles is a very serious infectious disease that can cause serious health problems. Health officials recently discovered that some people in four states of America (America) have contracted this disease after travelling to other countries.
1. Virginia
On January 3 and 4, 2024, some people at two airports in Virginia, Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport appeared to have been in close contact with people with measles. Health officials are trying to find and contact people on the same flights as the person with measles.
2. Washington DC
A person who came from another country got measles. They passed through some airports in the DC area. Health officials say people in airports should watch for measles symptoms. The risk of measles is low, but it's still good to be careful.
3. Pennsylvania
Eight people in Philadelphia got measles. They also got it from someone who had travelled to another country. A person with measles visited a hospital or daycare centre. Health officials are looking for people who may have been exposed to measles in those places.
