Russia, Moscow: On Monday, Elon Musk refuted claims that he had gifted a Cybertruck to Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya.
"Are you really so out of touch that you believe I donated a Cybertruck to a Russian general?" Musk posted on his social media platform, X.
He criticized the legacy media for spreading false information, adding, "Yet another example of how much the legacy media lies."
The controversy began when Kadyrov posted a video on Telegram showing himself driving a Tesla vehicle that seemed to be equipped with a gun turret. In the video, Kadyrov expressed gratitude to Musk and extended an invitation for him to visit Grozny, saying, "Elon, thank you! Come to Grozny, I will receive you as my most dear guest!" Kadyrov, a close ally of Putin and subject to multiple U.S. and EU sanctions, also mentioned plans to send the Cybertruck to the battlefield in Ukraine, where Russia is engaged in an ongoing military conflict.
