Indian-Americans demand : Whats Behind the Outrage Over Anti-Hindu Sentiment After Temple Attack in Canada?

Indian-Americans are voicing anger and seeking justice following an attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada. They claim the attack was carried out by "Khalistani hoodlums" and criticize Canadian authorities for failing to prevent it. They demand the arrest and punishment of those responsible and stress the importance of addressing anti-Hindu sentiment.

On Tuesday, Indian-Americans condemned the temple attack in Canada, calling for the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. Prominent Indian-American Bharat Barai expressed strong disapproval of the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, by a group of Khalistani supporters. Speaking to PTI, Barai stated, "I strongly condemn this disgraceful act where these individuals recklessly targeted a sacred place of worship and its devotees."

"Canadian authorities knew about this threat and should have taken action to prevent it. Now, they must ensure that these attackers are arrested and prosecuted," he added.

Dr. Adapa Prasad, a respected Indian-American community leader, also condemned the "organized violent attack by misguided Sikh Khalistani separatists" on the Hindu temple and its worshippers in Brampton.

"Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should be held accountable, as he openly fuels hatred against India and Indian Canadians for his personal political gains," Prasad stated.

He expressed concern, saying, "It's disturbing to witness a police officer holding a separatist Khalistani flag while other officers, along with the attackers, assault temple attendees with batons," he told PTI.

He further added that "the Canadian government seems to be backing these terrorists and criminals against Canadian Indians and India, risking Canada's own national interests."

Jasdip Singh Jassee, a well-known Sikh community leader, emphasized that the attackers do not represent Sikhs. He urged the Canadian government to take firm action against those responsible for the attack.

"These individuals are not Sikhs. True Sikhs would never do such a thing. Sikhs have always stood in defense of Hindus and their temples," Jassee said.

He intends to lead a delegation of Sikh community leaders to a Hindu temple in the Greater Washington area as a gesture of unity.

The Coalition of Hindus of North America (COHNA) firmly condemned "this blatant attack by Khalistanis" against Hindu-Canadian worshippers at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton.
