Indian Americans Rally Behind Kamala Harris with a Bollywood Video

The Indian American Democratic fundraiser unveiled a new digital video on Thursday titled "I WILL VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS-TIM WALZ," designed to mobilize South Asian voters in key battleground states.

This Bollywood-inspired video features an instrumental from the movie Animal, which draws from AR Rahman's classic song "Dil Hai Chhota Sa, Chhoti Si Asha" from Roja. The aim is to connect with South Asian communities in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, and North Carolina.

Ajay Bhutoria, a member of the National Finance Committee for Kamala Harris' presidential campaign, emphasized the significance of uniting efforts to back Harris. He also announced plans for additional Bollywood-themed videos to motivate voter turnout for her and her running mate, Tim Walz.

The decision is clear: Kamala Harris embodies a hopeful vision for the future, while Trump promotes a message of division. Thousands of South Asian volunteers are getting involved by knocking on doors and making calls to secure a victory in this election," Bhutoria remarked.

In the video, he highlights how the themes resonate with Vice President Harris' message of unity and hope. "Vice President Harris represents joy and optimism for our community. Her mission is to create a future that rises above the divisiveness spread by Donald Trump, providing hope to more than 5 million Indian Americans. We are leveraging Bollywood music to connect with our community and make sure their voices are heard," he expressed.

The video, created by Ajay and Vinita Bhutoria and produced by Ritesh Parikh of Awesome TV, features messages in several languages, including Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and Urdu.

Parikh noted, "Bollywood has always brought people together through its stories, and Kamala Harris embodies that spirit of unity. She inspires joy and hope for all of us."
