Virginia, USA: JJ Singh, born to Indian immigrant parents, has been officially sworn in as the Delegate for Virginia’s House District 26, representing Southeastern Loudoun County. His victory in the district’s race last week marked a pivotal moment for the region.
Singh assumed office on January 13, following his win in the closely watched special elections. Expressing his gratitude, Singh took to social media to thank his supporters and affirm his dedication to serving the community. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he shared, “I am deeply honored by the trust House District 26 has placed in me. Representing the community my family calls home is a privilege. I’m eager to head to Richmond to advocate for our values and deliver for Southeastern Loudoun County families!”
On the day of his inauguration, Singh reiterated his commitment to his role, stating, “It’s an honor to take the Oath of Office this morning. I’m ready to get to work for Loudoun County.”

His accomplishment was applauded by many, including senator-elect Kannan Srinivasan, who also secured a victory in Virginia’s Senate District 32. Srinivasan posted a congratulatory message, saying, “Congratulations to my friend @SinghforVA on being sworn in as the Delegate for District 26!
