The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, India, celebrated the achievement of Usha Chilukuri Vance as the first woman of Telugu descent to serve as the Second Lady of the United States.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu offered his congratulations to JD Vance on his election as Vice President of the United States, noting the significance of this moment for the global Telugu community.
Naidu highlighted this historic milestone, particularly for Vance’s wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, who will represent Telugu heritage in her role as Second Lady. “I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. @JDVance, the US Vice President-elect,” Naidu shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
"This victory is a historic moment, as Mrs. Usha Vance, with roots in Andhra Pradesh, will be the first woman of Telugu descent to hold the role of Second Lady in the US. This is a proud moment for the Telugu community worldwide. I look forward to the chance to invite them to visit Andhra Pradesh,” he added.
In a separate message, Naidu congratulated Donald Trump on his successful return to the presidency, reflecting on the strengthened Indo-US relationship during Trump’s first term and expressing optimism for continued collaboration.
"I extend my congratulations to Mr. @realDonaldTrump on his success in the US Presidential Elections and wish him well as he prepares to lead the nation forward," Naidu stated. "His first term saw a notable strengthening of the Indo-US partnership. Under the leadership of Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji and President Trump, I am confident our two countries will continue to deepen ties and foster greater cooperation."
