Islamabad: Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is facing many cases in the courts, is getting backlash. On Tuesday, the court sentenced Imran and his wife Bushra Bibi to 14 years imprisonment in the Toshakhana case. As the general elections are going to be held in Pakistan in another 8 days... Imran's successive punishments have put his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in deep trouble. The trial of the Toshakhana case continued in Rawalpindi's Adiyala Jail, where Imran was a prisoner. Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir delivered the verdict on Wednesday. Imran and his wife Bushra Bibi were convicted in this case. A fine of Rs 78.7 crore was also imposed on each of them. Bushra Bibi was not present in the court during the verdict. After being sentenced she came to Adiyala Jail and surrendered before the authorities. This is the third jail sentence imposed by the court on Imran after losing power in 2022. The court has already sentenced him to three years imprisonment in another case related to Toshakhana.
