Israel Hezbollah War Live Updates: Hezbollah Drone Strikes Israeli PM Netanyahus Home in Caesarea

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated on Wednesday, with Hezbollah fighters engaging Israeli troops in close combat in southern Lebanon. In response, Israeli airstrikes targeted Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, causing significant destruction and casualties, including the death of a city mayor in Nabatiyeh. Additionally, Israel conducted a strike on the Syrian port city of Latakia, which resulted in fires; Syrian air defenses reacted, but the full extent of the damage remains unknown.

In Gaza, under pressure from the US, Israel permitted 50 aid trucks to enter northern Gaza from Jordan, delivering food, water, and medical supplies. However, aid organizations have indicated that this amount is inadequate to address urgent needs, especially as Israel has tightened its siege in northern Gaza. Meanwhile, Qatar reported that no active ceasefire negotiations have occurred in the last three to four weeks, highlighting a lack of progress towards de-escalation.

The Pentagon confirmed that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held discussions with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant regarding ongoing military operations and humanitarian aid. Despite international appeals for restraint, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has rejected calls for a ceasefire, maintaining a strong stance in the conflict.

In a separate incident, a Hezbollah drone targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea. Fortunately, no casualties occurred, as both the PM and his wife were not at the residence during the attack.
