Sankranti celebrations were held under the auspices of Telugu Alliances of Canada (Taca). More than 600 expatriates along with their families participated in these celebrations in Toronto, Canada. TAKA President Ramesh Munukuntla started the celebrations. General Secretary Prasanna Kumar Tiruchirappalli invited the attendees. The programs started with the lighting of Jyothi by Dhanalakshmi Munukuntla, Visharada Patira, Swapna Thirandasu, Anita Sajja and Sruthi Eluri.

As part of the Sankranti celebrations, Manjunath blessed all the children with bhogi fruits. On this occasion, Ramesh Munukuntla, Foundation Committee Chairman Arun Kumar Layam, and Trustee Board Chairman Suresh Koona released the Thaka 2024 Calendar prepared with Telugu tithus and Nakshatras according to North American Eastern Time and handed it over to the audience. Ramesh said that he requested all the Telugu diaspora in Canada to participate in Taka's efforts to hand over Telugu arts, festivals and Indian cultural traditions to the next generations. Later, former Minister of Ontario State Deepika Damerla, Chief Founder Hanumanthachari Samanthapudi, Prasanna Kumar, Arun Kumar Layam, Suresh Kuna and ex-officio members addressed the audience. Those who acted as committee members between 2021-23 were felicitated with mementoes. Mementos were given to the children who won the drawing competition. Anita Sajja, Kumari Vidya Bhavanam and Likhita Yarlagadda acted as commentators for this ceremony
