Vietnam has become a highly popular travel destination for Indian tourists, with a surge in bookings driven by better flight connections, affordable pricing, and ease of e-visas. Since 2019, bookings for Vietnam from India have increased by 500% for some travel agencies, and the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism reports 392,000 Indian visitors in 2023, over three times the 2019 figures.
Vietjet is offering promotional fares to further attract Indian travelers, adding new routes and running 68 weekly flights connecting cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi with key Vietnamese locations such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Travel company leaders attribute Vietnam's appeal to its affordability, diverse cultural experiences, and convenient visa processes, making it ideal for a broad range of Indian travelers. New flight options, including Ahmedabad-Da Nang routes, are anticipated to support continued growth.
Companies like Thomas Cook, MakeMyTrip, and SOTC are collaborating with Vietnam’s tourism board to promote lesser-known locations like the Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc, and Sapa, appealing to Indian tourists interested in culture, history, and scenic landscapes.
