Kamal Haasans upcoming film, Indian 2, is generating buzz as it prepares for its premiere shows. Following the massive success of Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD, which grossed over Rs 500 crore, Kamal Haasan is set to reprise his iconic role of vigilante Senapathy in this sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Hindustani/Indian. Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is scheduled for release on July 12.

While advance bookings are yet to begin in India, ticket sales have already commenced in the United States. The film has already sold over 2,500 tickets across approximately 540 locations, amounting to a total sale of US $65,200 (Rs 54 lakhs).

Kamal Haasan is dedicated to his role, spending about four hours in prosthetics each day to transform into Senapathy, with an additional three hours to remove the makeup after filming. His commitment includes early mornings and rigorous routines, starting his day at 3 AM with gym sessions before sitting in the makeup chair by 5 AM.

The film also stars Siddharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, and SJ Suryah, with music composed by Aniruddh, replacing A R Rahman who scored the original soundtrack. Following Indian 2, director Shankar plans to release Game Changer starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
