Indian-Family Found Dead After Fall from London High-Rise Apartment

South London, London, UK:  A tragic incident has shocked London after an Indian-origin couple and their nine-year-old son were found dead following a fall from the 36th floor of a luxury residential tower in South London.

The incident occurred on May 27 in a 46-storey apartment building. Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports that three people had fallen from a high-rise balcony. Despite efforts by paramedics to revive them, Rakesh Pai (47), his wife Aditi Paralkar (46), and their son Sid (9) were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. While police have not confirmed the exact cause, investigators are examining whether the incident was the result of suicide or whether other factors may have been involved.

According to reports, Sid had been suffering from serious health issues for several years. The family reportedly sought medical treatment for him in India in 2020 before returning to the United Kingdom. Investigators believe the child's prolonged medical condition may be one of the factors being considered in the ongoing inquiry.

Local MP Neil Coyle expressed his condolences in a letter addressed to residents of the building, describing the deaths as a heartbreaking tragedy. He noted that the child had reportedly been born with significant health complications and that these challenges may have contributed to the family's circumstances.

Friends and acquaintances described the couple as respected professionals working in the finance and construction consulting sectors. Those who knew them said they were shocked by the news and found it difficult to believe the family would take such a step. While some noted that Aditi appeared stressed due to her son's health condition, Rakesh was often seen as calm and supportive.

Neighbours reportedly told investigators that they had heard arguments and distressing sounds coming from the family's apartment in the weeks leading up to the incident. Police have confirmed that inquiries are continuing and that the family's relatives have been informed.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation remains ongoing.
