Woman Faces Burglary Charges After Allegedly Stealing Bike from Shed

In Pocatello, a 25-year-old woman named Jasmin Isabel Douglas has been charged with felony burglary following an incident where she allegedly entered a local man's shed and took a bicycle. The Pocatello Police responded to a call from Douglas' probation officer, requesting her arrest on an agent's warrant at Portneuf Medical Center around 7:20 a.m. on Friday.

According to police reports obtained by the Idaho State Journal, Douglas was found in possession of the stolen bicycle but refused to disclose its origin. Dispatch provided officers with video evidence showing Douglas entering the shed on Wilson Avenue and removing the bike. The homeowner confirmed that the bike had been taken without permission.

Douglas, arrested and booked into Bannock County Jail, appeared before 6th District Magistrate Judge Paul Laggis on Monday, where she pleaded not guilty. Her bond was set at $10,000, and she is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 11 to determine if there's enough evidence for the case to proceed to district court.

If convicted of felony burglary, Douglas could face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine up to $50,000.
