Washington, USA: A student from Hyderabad has tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in the United States. The incident occurred in Washington, DC, where the victim, identified as Ravi Teja, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants.

Ravi Teja, originally from Green Hills Colony in Hyderabad, was pursuing his Master’s degree in the US, having moved there in March 2022. After completing his studies, he was looking for job opportunities when the unfortunate event occurred. The exact circumstances of the shooting are still unclear, leaving his family devastated by the loss.

This is not the first time a student from Hyderabad has been killed in a shooting in the US. In a similar incident, Aishwarya Thatikonda, a young woman from Hyderabad, was among the victims of the Texas mall shooting in 2023. Aishwarya was one of nine people killed in the tragic attack at the Allen Premium Outlets Mall.

The growing frequency of such incidents highlights the urgent need for action to address the rising number of mass shootings. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there were at least 198 mass shootings reported in 2023 alone, underscoring the severity of the issue.
