The Australian government has recently increased the student visa fees by over two-fold The current fee of $710 (Rs.59,255) has been increased to $1,600 (Rs.1.33 lakh). It has been said that the increased fees will be implemented from July 1st.
This will affect millions of Indian students who want to study in Australia. Indians are the second largest number of foreign students in Australia.
According to the Indian High Commission in Canberra, there are 1.2 lakh Indian students by August 2023. Now foreign students can choose countries like Britain. In Britain, the student visa fee is 900 dollars (Rs. 75 thousand).
