Ottawa, Canada: Canadian law enforcement has issued nationwide arrest warrants for four individuals of South Asian descent in connection with serious criminal activities.

The suspects include Navneet Singh, Simran Preet Panesar, Arsalan Chaudhary, and Prasath Paramalingam, all sought by authorities in relation to high-profile criminal offenses.

Navneet Singh, a truck driver from Ontario, is accused of being involved in a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of a mother and her young daughter. Meanwhile, Prasath Paramalingam is suspected in a gold heist at Toronto’s Pearson Airport and failed to appear for his court hearing.

The police also seek two additional suspects connected to the gold heist—Simran Preet Panesar and Arsalan Chaudhary—who remain on the run, according to Peel Regional Police.

Prasath Paramalingam, aged 35, faces charges related to the theft of $22.5 million worth of gold from Pearson Airport in a daring heist within the airport’s high-security cargo area. He is charged with being an accessory after the fact for allegedly helping Durante King-McLean, the primary suspect, flee the scene. King-McLean is said to have driven a truck loaded with gold bars and foreign currency away from the Air Canada cargo facility in April 2023.

Both Paramalingam and King-McLean are also under investigation in the United States for their involvement in a firearms smuggling ring. Pennsylvania State Police detained King-McLean in Franklin County after he committed several traffic violations, where they discovered 65 firearms intended for Canada in his vehicle. He is currently awaiting trial in the U.S.

Paramalingam is alleged to have assisted King-McLean in his illegal entry into the U.S., facilitated the smuggling of firearms, and helped arrange financial support for the operation, including an Airbnb stay in Florida.

King-McLean, arrested on September 2, 2023, pleaded not guilty to six firearms charges. Peel police allege he used a white cube van to steal gold bars and currency from Pearson Airport.

In a separate case, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has been unable to locate Navjeet Singh, 25, who is believed to have caused a deadly crash in Winnipeg. Singh allegedly ran a stop sign while driving a semi-trailer truck, colliding with an SUV and killing a Manitoba mother and her eight-year-old daughter.

A national arrest warrant has been issued for Singh, who faces charges of dangerous driving causing death and obstructing a police officer. According to RCMP, Singh was treated for injuries at a hospital and later released.

The victims, Sara Unger, 35, and her daughter Alexa, 8, were returning home from a grocery trip when the tragic incident occurred. Sara died at the scene, while Alexa succumbed to her injuries after being airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. The victims were from the rural municipality of Rhineland, located around 90 kilometers southwest of Winnipeg.
