A team of Indian Americans has launched LetzFarm, a cutting-edge app designed to boost agricultural efficiency, address climate challenges, and promote sustainable farming practices.

The initiative stems from a collaboration between the Carbon Zero Institute of Trinidad and Tobago (CZITT) and the Abris team. Key contributors include Abris CEO and co-founder Priya Samant, Donald Baldeosingh, Melanie TikaSingh, Thomas Arul, Anusha Anbarasan, and Kuberan Selvaraj.

Unveiled during the Institute of Caribbean Studies' (ICS) Invest Smart Caribbean Summit in Washington, D.C., LetzFarm is tailored to farmers in Trinidad and Tobago, with plans for expansion across other Caribbean nations.

By leveraging AI, the app offers scalable solutions aimed at transforming agriculture across the Caribbean, Latin America, and eventually, the global farming sector. Its real-time insights support farmers in navigating critical agricultural challenges while fostering resilience and sustainability in the face of climate change.

The app’s launch featured a panel discussion emphasizing its alignment with eight of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). LetzFarm aims to enhance food security, build climate resilience, and promote inclusive growth within the agricultural sector.

The event was attended by notable figures such as Justice Anthony Carmona, former president of Trinidad and Tobago, and Hemang Jani, senior advisor to the World Bank’s executive director. Jani highlighted the initiative’s potential, stating, “This initiative showcases the global reach of Indian expertise, aiming to boost productivity, lower costs, and connect farmers to the best markets worldwide.”

LetzFarm represents a significant step forward in sustainable farming, with the promise of fostering prosperity across the Caribbean and beyond.
