Mississippi State Reveals Representatives for SEC Media Days

STARKVILLE, Miss:  The year 2024 marks a period of transformation for Mississippi State football, with former Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby stepping into the role of head coach for the first time.

The Southeastern Conference is also experiencing significant changes as Texas and Oklahoma join its ranks. As SEC Media Days approach, signaling the start of the eagerly anticipated "talking season," football enthusiasts are gearing up for the season ahead.

Each of the 16 SEC teams will send three players to represent their school. Mississippi State has unveiled its representatives, with Blake Shapen, the most notable new addition to the team, leading the charge. Shapen, who transferred from Baylor after four seasons, impressed during the MSU spring game and is expected to be a key player in the Lebby era.

Veteran offensive lineman Albert Reese IV will join Shapen. Standing at 6-7 and weighing 320 pounds, Reese has consistently demonstrated his prowess on the field and received substantial first-team reps in the spring game. This junior offensive lineman appears ready to make a significant impact this season.

Representing the defense, John Lewis, a native of Canton, Miss., brings his considerable talents to the spotlight. Despite showing potential throughout his Bulldog career, Lewis has yet to fully break through. However, with new defensive coordinator Coleman Hutzler's system, the 6-3, 240-pound linebacker is expected to thrive, particularly in pass-rushing scenarios.

The Bulldogs will take the stage on Wednesday, July 17th, in Dallas, TX, ready to showcase their talent and ambitions for the upcoming season.
