A crash involving a 1934 WACO YKC single-engine biplane occurred in a field approximately 10 miles north of Hoxie in Sheridan County around 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, as reported by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The pilot, identified as 78-year-old David Allen from Elbert, Colorado, and his passenger, 79-year-old Jeanne Allen, tragically lost their lives in the incident at the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are conducting the investigation.
