England, Oxford: Four Indian-American students—Ayush Noori, Anushka Nair, Aneesh Muppidi, and Om Gandhi—have been recognized for their remarkable achievements in fields such as artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and oncology. Their academic excellence and leadership have earned them the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford starting in October 2025.

The Rhodes Scholarship, awarded annually to over 100 scholars, offers full funding for postgraduate studies at Oxford, enabling recipients to engage in cutting-edge research and academic advancement.

Meet the Scholars:

1. Ayush Noori, from Bellevue, Washington, is pursuing A.B. and M.Sc. degrees in computer science and neuroscience at Harvard University. His research applies artificial intelligence to biomedical data analysis, with a focus on predicting treatments for conditions like bipolar disorder and Parkinson’s disease. As a co-founder of the Harvard Undergraduate OpenBio Laboratory and a contributor to over 20 peer-reviewed papers, Noori plans to pursue MSc degrees in clinical neurosciences and physiology, anatomy, and genetics at Oxford.
2. Anushka Nair, from Lake Oswego, Oregon, is a senior at MIT completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science and engineering. Her research lies at the intersection of AI and ethics, with contributions to projects like misinformation detection using advanced language models. With internship experience at Tesla, the UN, and Oracle, Nair will pursue a DPhil in social data science at Oxford.
3. Aneesh Muppidi, hailing from Schenectady, New York, is studying computer science and neuroscience at Harvard. With experience in AI policy during his tenure at the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), Muppidi has also led various student organizations, including serving as co-president of the Hindu Students Association. He plans to pursue an MSc in advanced computer science and a master’s in public policy at Oxford.
4. Om Gandhi, from South Barrington, Illinois, is completing studies in neuroscience, public health, and bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on groundbreaking cancer immunotherapies. Active in the Penn Hindu-Jain Association and other student groups, Gandhi will study oncology at Oxford.
