The Indian Embassy in Bahrain, in partnership with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), organized an informative session on the topic of 'Trafficking in Persons' and the Bahraini Government's labor market initiatives. The event was held at the Embassy on November 14, 2024, for the Indian expatriate community.

As part of the 'Working Together' initiative, the session attracted around 100 members of the Indian community, including representatives from various Indian associations, private enterprises, and recruitment agencies. Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob addressed the attendees, encouraging them to comply with the local laws, regulations, and procedures. He also expressed his appreciation for the support and protection extended by the Government of Bahrain and LMRA to the Indian community.

Key officials at the session included Mr. Fahad AbdulAziz Al Binali, Director of Partnership and Outreach at LMRA; Mr. Saud Yateem, Director of the Protection and Grievances Centre at LMRA; Ms. Aishath Ihma Shareef, Chief of Mission (designate) at IOM Bahrain; and other representatives from LMRA and IOM.

The event featured presentations by LMRA and IOM officials, who covered topics such as human trafficking, the Registered Workers' Programme, and services available through the Expat Protection Centre. They also provided valuable information on how to access these services. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment.
