New Jersey, USA: In July 2024, four men of Telugu origin were taken into custody in New Jersey on accusations of involvement in a human trafficking case.The charges alleged that they had established fraudulent businesses and exploited individuals for forced labor.
However, recent developments reveal that US authorities have dropped these charges, sparking confusion about the events surrounding the case.
This situation originated in March 2023 when authorities discovered 15 women residing in a home in Princeton, New Jersey. Officials initially alleged that these women had been unlawfully brought into the country and forced to work under unacceptable conditions.
As a result, police in Texas arrested the accused individuals—Chandan Dasireddy, Santosh Katkoori, Dwarka Gunda, and Anil Malega—based on these allegations.
New information has since surfaced, indicating that the Princeton police department has sent a letter to the Attorney’s office, formally withdrawing the charges against the accused.
In statements to the media, the women involved refuted claims that they had been trafficked into the U.S. or forced to work, a revelation that likely contributed to the decision to drop the case.
Despite the withdrawal of charges, the Princeton police department has remained silent, issuing no public statements to clarify the matter.
