Dublin, California, USA: The temple, previously targeted last year, raises worries about a potential pattern of attacks.
In Dublin, California, the Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple was broken into in the early hours of September 7, according to CBS News.
The burglary reportedly took place around 4:00 a.m. local time, with thieves making off with cash and jewelry valued at nearly $34,000.
Authorities from the Dublin Police Department stated that there is currently no evidence suggesting the crime was motivated by religion. Investigations are ongoing to determine the details.
The temple is a Hindu place of worship honoring the five-faced Lord Hanuman. It hosts a variety of religious ceremonies, cultural programs, and festivals. The main deity, Sri Panchamukha Hanuman, is accompanied by Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi, Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy, Sri Rama Parivar, and the Navagraha deities.
Although police have not classified this as a hate crime, this marks the second recent incident targeting the temple. Last year, the same temple reportedly experienced a similar attack.
Individuals with information regarding the burglary are urged to contact Dublin Police Services at (925) 833-6670.
