ATA and SAI Host Student Orientation Program at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA: The American Telugu Association (ATA) recently organised an enriching Student Orientation Program to support Telugu students in the United States. This event was held in collaboration with the Students’ Association of India (SAI) at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and drew an enthusiastic response from students. The program was designed to raise awareness among students, enhance safety, and highlight future academic and career opportunities.

Several notable speakers, including experts, community leaders, and professors, addressed a variety of topics. Dean Professor Arora shared insights to help students navigate campus life and achieve both academic and personal success. A Milwaukee police lieutenant offered important guidance on safety and security measures. Health insurance specialist Krishna Rangaraju emphasised the value of health and life insurance, while attorneys Santosh Reddy Somireddy and Prashanti Reddy provided practical advice on immigration rules and regulations, explaining essential dos and don’ts for international students.

Jayant Challa, President of ATA, along with other dignitaries, discussed strategies for adapting to American culture and engaging with local communities. Celebrities Ravi Kaki Reddy and K.K. Reddy offered tips on managing campus life, internships, and career prospects. Kiran Pasham also contributed to the event via a Zoom session. Other prominent participants included ATA Secretary Sainath, Chicago member Bhanu, ATA Wisconsin Regional Directors Poli Reddy Ghanta and Chandramouli Saraswathi, as well as Regional Coordinators Nikhila and Keerthika.

The collaborative effort by ATA Milwaukee and SAI made the Student Orientation Program a resounding success. The event has laid a strong foundation for promoting student awareness, confidence, and well-being. This program marks a significant milestone in ATA’s journey, reinforcing its role as a mentor and inspiration for similar initiatives in the future.
