Chicago, Illinois, USA: Molson Coors Names 24-Year Veteran Rahul Goyal as President and CEO

Rahul Goyal is set to take over the leadership from Gavin Hattersley on October 1.

Molson Coors Beverage Company, a Canadian-American beverage giant headquartered in Chicago, announced on September 22 that Rahul Goyal has been promoted to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer.

The company’s Board of Directors made the appointment unanimously. Goyal will officially succeed Gavin Hattersley on October 1, with Hattersley remaining in an advisory capacity until the end of 2025 to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Before this appointment, Goyal served as the company’s Chief Strategy Officer. He has been with Molson Coors for 24 years, holding executive positions in areas including IT, finance, and strategic planning.

Goyal began his career in Golden, Colorado at Coors Brewing Company and later took on several international leadership roles, such as Chief Information Officer for Molson Coors in the UK and Chief Financial Officer for Molson Coors in India.

A graduate of the University of Mysore, Goyal has dedicated his efforts to expanding Molson Coors’ portfolio in meaningful ways, aiming to engage more consumers across various occasions in his role as Chief Strategy Officer.

Board Chair David Coors praised Goyal as the ideal choice for CEO, stating, “Following a comprehensive CEO succession process that evaluated both internal and external candidates, it became evident that Rahul possesses the experience and vision required to guide Molson Coors into its next phase of growth.”

He added, “Rahul brings extensive knowledge of our company and is enthusiastic about introducing fresh ideas with a focus on future development. We are confident that his leadership will deliver long-term value for Molson Coors.”

Geoff Molson, Vice-Chair of the Board, echoed these sentiments, saying, “Rahul has driven notable growth in new areas for the company, demonstrating a talent for building partnerships that align with our strategic priorities.”

Molson continued, “Moreover, he leads with authenticity and integrity, earning trust both within the company and externally, while inspiring excitement around our transformation journey.
