Tariff :It is known that former U.S. President Donald Trump had imposed tariff attacks on various countries across the world. He implemented a minimum of 10% tariffs on all imported goods to the U.S., with the highest going up to 49% (notably on Cambodia). He imposed 26% on India, 34% on China, and up to 20% on European countries. In response, China reacted strongly to these U.S. tariffs and announced retaliatory tariffs.
China announced on Friday that it will impose an additional 34% tariff on goods imported from the United States. The 10% tariff applicable to all countries would be implemented starting Saturday, while the specific 24% additional tariff on U.S. imports would take effect from the 9th of this month, according to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, which released an official statement.
Reacting sharply to China’s retaliatory tariffs, former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized their move, claiming that China was overreacting. He said, “China made a mistake. They are afraid. This will not be implemented by China.” Trump expressed his stance through a post on his own social media platform, Truth Social.
