Chicago, Illinois, USA: On February 7, 2025, Zainuddin brought a woman to Hyderabad, claiming it was for a Hajj pilgrimage. They checked into a room at the Park Hotel in Somajiguda. However, when she went to meet her parents, her husband left the hotel abruptly, taking with him all his possessions, including passports, green cards, and jewelry, and returned to the United States. Following this, Hana Ahmed promptly filed a complaint at the Punjagutta police station.

Despite repeated efforts over the past six months, she has been unable to reach her husband. She approached both the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad, but her attempts to get assistance yielded no results.

In her appeal to the Ministry of External Affairs, she requested intervention and sought a visa that would allow her to pursue legal action against her husband in the United States. In her letter to External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, she urged that the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the Consulate in Hyderabad be instructed to take appropriate measures to address her situation.
