Indian Deportees Detail Inhumane Treatment by U.S. Officials During Forced Return

Due to the actions taken by U.S. President Donald Trump against illegal immigrants, three flights carrying Indian deportees have already arrived in India. Recently, photos surfaced showing U.S. officials chaining the hands and feet of deported Indians during their transfer. However, reports indicate that the treatment was even more inhumane, violating human rights. Some deportees stated that they faced religious discrimination and were subjected to psychological harassment.

The third flight carrying 112 Indian illegal immigrants landed at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport in Amritsar on Sunday. Some of the deported individuals shared their experiences with the media. A person named Jatinder revealed that he was detained in a camp for two weeks, during which he was mentally tortured and deprived of proper food.

He further alleged that the U.S. military forcibly removed his turban and threw it into the dustbin. He was kept in shackles for about 36 hours inside the military aircraft. U.S. officials reportedly provided him with only Lay’s chips and a small fruit drink twice a day. He also claimed that he was forced to remove all his clothes, including his sacred turban. Sikh youths in detention requested their turbans back, but the authorities denied their request.
