An Indian student from Haryana, whose deportation video went viral, was restrained and hospitalized in Newark after his behavior was deemed unfit for travel. He will be sent back to India once his medical condition allows him to travel.
India is in touch with the US authorities. The MEA has raised the issue with the US Embassy in Delhi, while the Indian Embassy in Washington and Consulate in New York are seeking more details. PTI sources said no clear information has yet been received about the incident, flight, or destination. The student was allegedly handcuffed and treated like a criminal, as recorded by Indian-American Kunal Jain.
The United States continues to welcome legitimate travelers to our country. However, there is no right to visit the United States. We cannot and will not tolerate illegal entry, abuse of visas, or the violation of U.S. law. pic.twitter.com/WvsUb4Mtqu
