Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison by the Supreme Court for conspiring to seize power after losing the 2022 election to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
He is the first former president jailed for attempting to subvert democracy.
