A bus with 54 people on board, including several Indian travelers, flipped over near Pembroke, New York, on Friday afternoon, resulting in five fatalities and multiple injuries.
The bus, returning from Niagara Falls, swerved off Interstate 90 after the driver lost control.
Many passengers weren’t wearing seat belts. Rescue teams, including helicopters, treated the injured, while authorities continued to investigate.
Governor Hochul and Senator Schumer expressed condolences.
