New York City, NY, USA: Nimesh Patel Skewers Trump’s Indian-American Supporters on The Daily Show
Indian-American stand-up comic Nimesh Patel became the talk of social media after a recent appearance on The Daily Show, where he hilariously targeted Donald Trump’s circle of Indian-American loyalists with sharp wit and cultural satire.
Host Ronny Chieng introduced Patel as “the Indian representative,” setting the stage for a bold segment. Patel then cracked that Trump’s idea of DEI stood for “the d***-eating Indians,” a punchline that brought roaring laughter from the crowd. His barbs didn’t spare anyone in Trump’s orbit.
When it came to former presidential hopeful and Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Patel quipped: “His opening line was ‘God is real.’ Well then why did He make you 5’7”, Vivek? That’s some real 5’7” energy.” Patel went on to label him a “herb,” a slang term from the ’90s used for someone desperate to fit in.
Shifting his focus to Usha Vance, wife of Trump’s running mate JD Vance, Patel delivered what became one of the most shared jokes of the night: “I just hope she’s got Stockholm syndrome. Otherwise, what’s she doing with JD Vance?”
Patel chose his words more carefully when mentioning Kash Patel, a former Trump aide. “I’m not saying anything about Kash Patel. I don’t need a one-way ticket to El Salvador,” he joked, before adding that growing up on Long Island with the full name Kashyap Pramod Vinod Patel gave him an “out for revenge” vibe.
Clips from Patel’s set have since gone viral, with viewers split between praising his daring humor and questioning how far political comedy should go.
